CURRENTCIE RE-ENTRY
An intro, a reboot reason, an outfit on repeat, a nervous-system chill out, and a gentle reset.
Aloha.
It’s been a minute — but I’m back in the water.
I’m excited to reopen Currentcie and use this space the way I always intended to: to share what feels valuable now. The favorites, the ideas, the conversations, and the takeaways that actually stick — without making things heavier than they need to be.
Going forward, I’ll still share my current obsessions across fashion, wellness, and mindset, but I’ll also use this newsletter as a kind of CliffNotes version of what I explore on Style Your Vibe. The essence. The juice. The net-net — especially if you don’t have the time or attention span for full conversations.
That idea of “the juice” has always been at the heart of Currentcie. What’s worth paying attention to in this moment. What has real value. What helps us feel a little clearer, lighter, or more grounded in real life.
The wellness space has exploded over the past few years — more voices, more advice, more information, more everything. And while some of it is great, a lot of it can feel overwhelming, earnest, and not always practical.
What I’ve always been interested in is making this stuff feel more human.
I’ve spent years exploring fitness, therapy, spirituality, and wellness alongside a career that looked pretty shiny on the outside — and one thing I know for sure is that nobody has it all figured out. Not the fashion people. Not the celebrities. Not the wellness experts. Not me.
So consider this an invitation to explore what’s now together — with levity, curiosity, practicality, and a little humor. No pressure. No perfection. Just sharing what feels true and useful in real time.
If you’re into that, hang out. And if this feels like something a friend might enjoy, invite them to join the current.
Since it would feel rude to invite you over without offering refreshments, here’s a small sample for anyone new — and an amuse-bouche for my regulars.
THE CURRENT FIVE (LITE)
File under: recalibrating, nervous-system chill out.
I’m using this quieter end-of-year window to go inward and enjoy the rare lack of outside pressure — no shoots, no schedules, no rush. A lot of time at home with Craig, cooking, resting, and generally homesoaking.
Homesoaking, for the record, is a term I picked up from my sorority sister Jen (yes, I was in a sorority — long story, good friends, zero regrets). For me, it means being home long enough to actually melt into the couch, calm the mind, and leave room to dream. Baths. Sauna blanket. Movies I actually want to watch. It’s deeply restorative — and occasionally something I feel compelled to defend in a culture obsessed with productivity and hustle.
This holiday season is the first time I’ve ever been on the East Coast for Christmas. I was bummed at first, but decided to honor what I really needed: space to recalibrate and get a gentle head start on the habits and beliefs I want to carry into 2026.
So instead of a full Current Five, here’s a Current Five (Lite) — what’s been supporting a steady drip of calm during this liminal stretch.
1. Listening:
“Holy Harmony” by Jonathan Goldman , from Music For The Heart Chakra. I first heard this during a breathwork session led by big-wave surfer and peak-performance instructor Laird Hamilton. If it helps him stay regulated after getting pummeled by a 35-foot wave, it can certainly help me. Instant chill.
2. Outfit on repeat:
A Kith sweatsuit. Cozy, unfussy, and exactly what I want to live in while recalibrating.
3. Inner work (in progress):
To Be Magnetic’s Return to Magic Challenge. A big theme for me right now is gently working on the fear of being seen — showing up more lo-fi, less polished, and letting myself swing between silly, sensitive, and fashion-obsessed without judgment. Growing up, survival mode often meant stuffing those parts down. It makes sense that I chose a fashion career where all three could exist — albeit with a heavy dose of perfectionism. I’m learning to soften that.
In the spirit of embracing imperfection, I’m leaving the Current Five (Lite) at three.
See? Light.
Until next time —
Aloha,
